The Bible Centre offers a wonderfull opportunity for children of all ages to encounter the world of the Bible.
The Bible is the most translated book in the world. At the moment at least one book of the Bible has been translated into 2650 languages. This number increases every year.
Here at the Bible Centre we want to make the history of the Bible come alive. The Bible was written in Hebrew and Greek, it was written on scrolls, later the printing press revolutionarised the distribution of Bibles, and the Bible is being translated into many languages. The history is told while different material is shown.
After the trip through the history of the Bible the school group is divided into smaller groups.
There is the possibility to do the following activities:
Listen to the Bible in six different languages: German, English, French, Russian, Arabic, and Japanese
Solving quizes and other activities on the computer
Working in a booklet/working sheet about the history of the Bible that is handed out
The school groups also have the possibility to choose from the following activities:
1. "Biblical Buffet"
Here the children can taste different food and fruit: flat bread, matzo, sheep/goat Cheese, olives, melons, grapes, grape juice and much more..
2. Writting-Workshop: The children can write their names in Hebrew and Greek on a piece of papyrus and parchment with a feather and reed pen.
3. Printing-Workshop: The children can print a page of the Bible with a printing plate. (only for groups up to 15 children)
During the year the Bible Centre also has tours through different exhibitions that we host.
